Summer to Spring
by Paul McLean
The prints were executed on Harvest’s amazing new Mimaki printer, the only one of its kind outside Japan. Jason Coulston of Pop Cling served as technical director for the project, which involved rendering McLean’s symmetric visual lyrics from the digital medium into 4D form. The patterns, evocative of Scottish tartans or Native American blankets, exhibit an optical texture and an astonishing depth of field that verges on three-dimensionality.
