{ART FOR HUMANS Lead Artist Paul McLean is accomplished in new & traditional fine art media and a pioneer in dimensional production and integrated exhibit practice.}
For over 25 years I've consistently produced perception-enhancing experiences in the fine arts arena, for diverse audiences. Since 1983 or so I have defined what I do as 4D or 4th Dimensional art (read Charles Sirato's Dimensionist Manifesto, 1936). Over the intervening period, the discipline I correctly defined as the most demanding and rewarding field of artistic engagement, enterprise and endeavor [to which I have chosen to devote my practice] has emerged as the most temporally relevant of all artistic domains. On the previous page I listed some ongoing projects and long-range projects and goals. They are 4D.
The fact is, I am entering the second stage of my career - the value-claiming stage - at a point when the infrastructure for recognizing artistic achievement, supporting technical innovation, even discerning what valuable art is, could not be in greater disarray. The cultural or social, political and economic environment is in a state of chaos and collapse, although the mechanisms for sustaining obsolete or harmful forms of anti-praxis [dyspraxia], and those who would manage those mechanisms, seem to achieve daily greater entrenchment and power(-over). It is with the most sincere urgency that I as an individual and creative professional appeal omni-directionally for sane, benevolent patronage, of the sort Sir Freake would provide, were he still living. As the great outsider painter Milo Santini has said, "All great art refutes management and its top-down tyranny, its nefarious designs on freedom. Free men manage themselves, from the ground to the sky, for the good of the commonwealth." If a job can be offered on such terms, I would strongly consider it, although I have a worthy vocation.
If I were a dramatic person, I would insist the fate of the world depends on your decision.
Thank you for your consideration.
