THE COMMONWEALTH PARTY

[To form a more perfect union...]

The failure of those currently ensconced in power over this great nation to confront and rectify structural issues impeding the continued enlightened and progressive evolution of the United States requires immediate action on behalf and by the people. The U.S. is now a managed organization, operating disproportionately in favor of the interests of a few, to the detriment of many. The country must renew its dedication to freedom, equity and peaceful prosperity in the Commonwealth and in our relations. To this end I propose the establishment of a new political party, committed to the ideals and principles that have made the United States a unique and great nation.

I PROPOSE:

  • The restoration of the land to its sovereign trustees, the indigenous peoples of North America
  • The amendment and revision of property law in the United States to establish the Commonwealth as equitable and universal Trust
  • The abolition of legal inequities that favor corporations and a reckoning for corporations that have acted malevolently with and upon our society
    • The abolition of corporate personhood
    • The abolition of infinite lifespan for corporations
    • The abolition of property rights for corporations
    • Immediate criminal and civil liability for all who have derived benefit from harmful corporate actions
  • The immediate end of the imperialistic agression by the United States in foreign territories
  • The cessation of all policies that promote torture by government agents here and abroad
  • The prosecution of all Americans responsible for torture conducted in the name of the United States, a profound disgrace upon the people
  • The restoration of Church and State separation
  • The reinstatement of civil liberties suspended in the name of "The War on Terror"
  • The prosecution of war profiteers in the financial sector, who have brought this nation to the verge of collapse
  • The restoration of the public media to the people, through the dismantling of corporate media monopolies
  • The immediate pursuit of sustainable energy solutions on a national scale and eradication of the petro-chemical industry as the economic foundation for the United States
  • The forgiveness of all usurious and asset-free loans made by the financial sector
  • The criminalizing of profit in the health care industry, and on the death of Americans
  • The reinstatement of Father's rights as co-creators of human life
  • The cessation of conjugal licensing practices by governmental agencies
  • A moratorium on importation of foreign manufactured goods
  • The establishment of a tax structure to strengthen the middle- and lower-income families and prevent the further erosion of protections against an American aristocracy
  • Free education for all
  • The abolition of "confidentiality" protections for government agencies, especially those designated to protect children
  • The immediate end of so-called "State Secrets" abuses
  • The immediate cessation of warrantless wiretapping by government/telecom agencies
  • The immediate restoration of Posse Comitatus
  • The de-militarization of police agencies
  • The legalization and regulation of currently non-legal drugs
  • Sweeping and immediate reform of the American penal system and abolition of the death penalty
  • The reinstatement of a national military/service draft

NOTE: I propose these revolutionary actions as an American citizen, and a citizen of the Commonwealth. I welcome others to join with me, to engage in the refinement and expansion of these proposals for their improvement and ultimately their implementation, for the benefit of all. I recognize that I am an imperfect person, and my perspective is limited, even though I have endeavored for a lifetime to accumulate understanding and education on the issues raised above. I submit these proposals in good faith to my fellow citizens, knowing from experience that an individual is not alone, and commonwealth is constructed of the contributions of individuals.

In the coming months I will create a forum for the public debate and definition of these proposals and the mechanisms for joining this newly formed Commonwealth party.
